And So It Begins

Restaurant Pixel is a multi-disciplinary creative agency. In short, we turn restaurants, food & beverage products into brands.  We have evolved through the years and want to share part of our story with you.

While our history goes back some 20 plus years ago, this part of the journey picks up in the not too distant past. In fact, rather recently. Around the early spring of 2020,  in the midst of the greatest pandemic in modern history, we at RestaurantPixel were faced with our biggest decision as an agency. Do we jump ship when our restaurant clients were drowning in bills, rents, payroll, and survival questions of their own? Do we leave an industry that we not only understand but also love; including all of the nuances, crazy hours & fast turnarounds. We took a long look at our past and contemplated our future. While the idea was bounced around that we too must rebrand, not even for a split second did we contemplate leaping into a different industry.

Working with our restaurants during COVID-19 meant that we went months without receiving our retainers, it meant we didn’t get paid. It many cases we started to absorb costs that normally were picked up from our clients.

It meant taking calls at all hours of the day and night. It meant doing something we hadn’t done as a design agency ever. We worked for nothing.

As you begin looking at your rebuild and deciding how to crank up the marketing machine you will be faced with many decisions. One of which, will be who do you leave the responsibility of reworking your website, snapping mouth-watering photography, and crafting meaningful marketing messages.

Do you offer this to an agency that stuck it out and was there for the industry when it needed it the most? Or do you reward your business with the lowest-priced proposal? We think it’s one of the easiest decisions you will have to make today.
